Wilsonart has underwritten curriculum exploring “The Art of Ecology” and “The Ecology of Art.” As part of the course material, California artists Daniel McCormick and Mary O’Brien, who collaborate on ecological art installations that respond to environmental issues, have visited the campus and worked with the students on art installations within the forests at Interlochen. It draws young people from around the world to study music, theater, dance, visual arts, creative writing, motion picture arts and comparative arts. Situated on a 1,200-acre campus near Traverse City, Michigan, Interlochen Arts Academy is one of America’s premiere arts educational institutions. Firms have responded positively to the content and the convenience of having an in-house presentation that is an approved AIA and IDCEC CEU. Wilsonart also sponsors a nationwide lecture tour which has already visited A&D firms in New York, Washington DC, Chicago, Minneapolis, Michigan, San Francisco, Los Angeles and more.
She is also the author of the Global Forestry CEU and “Design for Global Forestry” White Paper. Grace is world-renowned for her interdisciplinary and integrated approach to the design and study of materials. The Global Forestry CEU, accredited by AIA and IDCEC, is presented by American designer and writer Grace Jeffers. The event will be livestreamed and over 3000 designers tuned in last year. The National Day of Learning CEU takes place each October at The Center for Architecture in NYC. to participate in an annual National Day of Learning CEU on the topic of Global Forestry and what they need to know to protect their practices. Amateur and professional photographers are encouraged to submit one to four nature photos in either one or both categories:ġ. The local category has been expanded to include photos taken at the Flint River. This year we are happy to say that a portion of the proceeds will benefit three local conservation groups: Flint Riverkeeper, a non-profit corporation with the goal of protecting the Flint River in its most natural state for future generations to enjoy Southern Conservation Trust, a nonprofit land trust dedicated to preserving natural areas in the Southern Crescent for enjoyment today and future generations and the Chattahoochee Hill Country Conservancy, a non-profit organization which seeks to preserve the natural fields and forests in a 65,000 acre area south of Atlanta. Each unique image echos the sentiment "a picture is worth a thousand words" a powerful reinforcement for the importance of green space and natural habitat protection for future generations of people and wildlife. The exhibition will showcase the simple, yet majestic, beauty of nature, wildlife, and our local landscapes. Thirty-six photographers from 7 states were represented in the show. Last year 96 photographers representing 10 states submitted 467 photographs for consideration. Nature, Undisturbed's inaugural year drew almost 200 hundred entries. Rosser knew with an excellent location like Dogwood and the talented photographers in the Atlanta area, the show would be a winner. Dogwood Gallery was interested in hosting a photography event.
With the plans for the show well underway, one thing was still not decided the location. Rosser envisioned a juried show bringing together photographers, photography collectors, and nature enthusiasts. As soon as Rosser heard this she immediately thought of not just a photography event of her work – but an event that would feature photographs from many. Rosser visits Trust properties frequently to shoot. In the fall of 2008 Southern Conservation Trust approached Donna Rosser about having a photography event featuring her photos.

Come, see the show and look through our windows on the world around us. This is the show that brings the outside in for all to enjoy. Perhaps you happen to take along a camera to capture the light through the leaves and continue to enjoy that day each time you view the photo.
It is the hope of the show creators that after viewing the photography, you are inspired to get out on the not-so-beaten path. The show brings together a diverse collection of photography showcasing the wonders of nature that many don’t take the time to see. Nature, Undisturbed TM is a celebration of the natural world.
